When the British Heart Foundation was looking for an app that would promote hands-­only CPR, they turned to Accella. The result was an app that combined pop culture, mobile phone technology, and a legendary sportsman ­all in the name of saving lives.

Nobody looks at an iPhone and thinks about how it can safe a life ­– but now they should. Accella worked with the British Heart Foundation to build an app that provides real-­time feedback to individuals performing CPR. Our work pushed the boundaries of the phone’s capabilities.

CPR instructions were provided with a voic-e­over from famed Wimbledon footballer Vinnie Jones, along with a soundtrack by the Bee Gees.

Not only has the app been reported to have saved life across the UK, but it also looked good doing it. It was part of a PSA campaign from BHF that won a Gold Lion award at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival.
