Los Angeles Public Library
When re-imaging the LAPL website, the priority was an engaging user experience that helped to turn the perception of the library as simply a home for books to an interactive resource for learning and enrichment.
When re-imaging the LAPL website, the priority was an engaging user experience that helped to turn the perception of the library as simply a home for books to an interactive resource for learning and enrichment.
Drupal was chosen as the content management system based on the highly interactive nature of the site and the desire to allow multiple users, such as the librarians, to curate content on the site.
The site also needed to give users access to their account information for tasks such as paying fines and viewing checked out books. Accella integrated the site with LAPL’s backend account management system, CARL, to provide access to this information.
In partnership with KAPOW, Accella transformed LAPL’s website from a static informational experience to a fully integrated interactive website that provided a personification of the library to it’s community of users.
