A Virtual Office Helps Baltimore Firm, Accella, Achieve Continued Growth
March 8, 2011 – Baltimore, MD: Having a virtual office environment has allowed Baltimore Web Development firm, Accella, not only survive a downturn in the economy, but increase in terms of sales and employees over the past 3 years. The latest proof comes as they were listed is the Baltimore Business Journal’s list of the top Web Design firms in the area, which was released in their March 4th edition.
The company’s model of having 100% of their 17 employees work from home has allowed them to keep down operating costs and vie for web contracts that may have otherwise been farmed out to companies with design and development services overseas.
“We have been able to grow over the past three years in a less than ideal climate in part because of our ability to have our employees work remotely,” said Jason King, President of Accella. Mr King, who founded the organization in 2006 has no intentions of opening a “corporate office” anytime soon. “For our business, it makes sense to be able to hire designers and developers that can work remotely on projects. Our sales and marketing staff is in Baltimore and meet at least once each week to discuss upcoming projects. Outside of that, our project managers and developers are able to keep each project moving smoothly by using a variety of different online tools.”
Accella has added 10 new employees since January 1, 2010 and has intentions of hiring to fill marketing, sales, and development positions later on this year. To find out more about open positions visit www.accella.net/careers.
In addition to Accella, Webber Shandwick Worldwide, Mind Over Machines, R2 Integrated, The Canton Group, and Bridgeline Digital were named on the list of “Largest Web Design Firms in the Baltimore Area.”
