Social Media Tips from Facebook, Twitter, and Hubspot

Three Quick Tips For Social Media Posts

This past week I had the opportunity to watch a marketing webinar hosted by folks from HubSpot, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. The wealth of information they provided is more than I could ever hope to fit in a blog post, so instead I decided to share three quick takeaway tips from the presentation.

Facebook
Talk to your customers as a person, not a business. Regardless of how much they may enjoy your products or brand, at the end of the day your customers want to feel like they’re talking to an actual person on the other side of the computer.

Twitter
Although Twitter hashtags are often a great way to get in on a conversation, they have no home in your promoted tweets, or tweets that contain your calls-to-action. The same goes for photos, Vines, songs, any kind of non-textual media you might be tempted to attach. If you’re trying to convert with a tweet, keep it simple and clean.

Social Media In General
Always be experimenting. You’ll never find out what works if you don’t try out new approaches. What performs great one day may fall flat on its face tomorrow, so it’s in your company’s best interest to always spend time developing new ideas and new plans for content.
